96.1% of Key Stage 2 Children Enjoy PE at Longsands!

Sport & PE Questionnaire Results

There has been an amazing response to our Sports and PE questionnaire with almost a 100% return rate.

The numbers have been crunched and the results are as follows:

Key Stage 1Summary:

Reception and Year 1 overview:

The survey was read out to Reception and Year 1 classes and their responses are class responses not individual. Year 2 answered individually.

To summarise Reception and Y1 results, the children enjoy PE lessons. They regard PE as one of their favourite subjects. The children think that there is enough PE in school and like using the PE equipment. Their favourite activities are races, climbing and using the balls. They rate PE lessons as either good or very good.

Year 2 overview:

  • 100% of children who responded to the survey said that they enjoyed PE.
  • 72.7% of children in Year 2 regard PE as one of their favourite subjects.
  • 54.5% of children in Year 2 say that there is enough PE in school.
  • 100% of Year 2 children who answered the survey said that they liked using the PE equipment in school.
  • Amongst Year 2s favourite activities in PE are athletics, dancing, running, gymnastics, throwing & catching, tennis and PNE.
  • 95.4% of Year 2 children rate their PE lessons as good or very good.

96.1% of Key Stage 2 children enjoy PE at Longsands.

76.7% of Key Stage 2 children regard PE as one of their favourite lessons.

66% of Key Stage 2 children say that there is enough PE at Longsands.

62.1% of Key Stage 2 children say that we have enough PE equipment at Longsands.

Children were asked to rate their PE lessons on a sliding scale where 1 was very good and 5 was poor:

  • 76.9% of year 4 children regard PE as one of their favourite lessons
  • 69.2% of year 4 children say there are enough PE opportunities in school
  • 61.5% of year 4 children say there is enough PE equipment in school

  • 95.8% of year 5 children enjoy PE
  • 75.0% of year 5 children regard PE as one of their favourite lessons
  • 66.7% of year 5 children say there are enough PE opportunities in school
  • 75.0% of year 5 children say there is enough PE equipment in school

  • 79.2% of year 6 children regard PE as one of their favourite lessons
