On Tuesday, we will be visiting Cobble Hey Farm near Garstang as part of our link with Longridge High School. Children will be learning about how a farm changes throughout the seasons and this is the first of three visits we will make. The work done at the farm complements our Science curriculum.

Remember to bring your packed lunches and come dressed for the weather! The weather on the farm can be significantly different from the weather at school so it is best to be prepared with layers of clothing to keep warm as well as a waterproof coat and suitable footwear for walking in - preferably wellies or walking boots as we do walk across the fields. Children can bring some money to spend at the shop if you like. Please make sure money is sent in either a named envelope or a purse or wallet. Children will be responsible for keeping their own money safe.

Times Tables

This half term we will be focusing on the 2, 4, 8 and 12 times tables.

Sessions will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Children will need to make sure that they have the correct kit with them throughout the year. It is essential that all kit is named – indoor and outdoor (including trainers) - and that they always have a pair of pumps with them for when we have P.E. inside. For outside games children may bring with them trainers, tracksuit bottoms and a jumper. If for any reason your child cannot take part in P.E. they must have a note or else they will have to participate. Earrings must be removed (except for the first 6 weeks after piercing when they can be covered with tape) and long hair must be tied back. Any child without the correct kit will complete a P.E. observation form during the lesson. Our first topic is outdoors so please send in warm clothing as mentioned above on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Please see the class newsletter for more information.

Daily reading - please remember to sign reading journals each night showing the book name and pages read and return to school each day.

English - given on Wednesday and due in on Monday

Maths - given on Friday and due in on Wednesday

Spellings - given and tested on Friday
