Year 2
Welcome to Year 2! At the end of Key Stage 1, the children are growing in confidence with their independence and love of learning. We follow a structured curriculum map which builds upon daily development of spelling through Spelling with the Jungle Club, Letter Join handwriting, Literacy through Literacy Tree, reading with Literacy Leaf and White Rose Maths and Fluency Bee. We work in partnership with families using Seesaw and our weekly school newsletter through the SchoolJotter app. At Longsands Community Primary School, we follow the Longsands Way and will invite families into school to celebrate achievements during Rewards Assembly on Friday. There are many events planned throughout the school year such as Wonder Days and PTFA events to participate in and look forward to. We look forward to the journey through Year 2 together.
