Mrs McKeown's Update Wednesday 10th June (PM)

10 June 2020 (by Martin Coyne (m.coyne))

Just a few items for your information today.

Next week, on Seesaw, teachers will be setting activities to help you and your childs' wellbeing . We feel your children could do with a week away from  the usual maths and literacy and just reboot a little with some emotional activities . We have had some phonecalls from parents who may relish this support as well.
As we have more keyworker children coming into school we have made a few changes not only to the staff rota but also to space used in school. Can I ask those children who are coming in, to now leave toys and school bags at home where possible. Your child really only needs to bring in  a water bottle  and coat. Those children who are packed lunches can just bring in their packed lunch bag.
School dinners have slightly changed this week. Again due to numbers and catering regulations to ensure the safety of their staff , the children can no longer go and collect their lunch from the kitchen hatch. School staff on duty will pass  dinners to the children at the table. We have decided that Monday and Tuesday a hot dinner will be provided for the children and Wednesday to Friday  a picnic lunch will be available.
School ties will be available  via the PTFA  who  have kindly offered to organise this for us. The new uniform list has been planned by the school and not PTFA. However if you wish to contact them about the type of tie you require please do not hesitate.
On a lighter note we had a staff meeting today in the staff carpark!! We also had a visit from the cafe 2 u van which had been sponsored by local businesses to provide free coffees for key workers. A big thankyou to the cafe2 u van for that, it made the staff smile and it was good for us to meet up face to face. A lovely gesture!! Thankyou to Anne Marie Craven for this .
