Football Matches

Yr5 & Yr6 Football

Mrs Monks (PeBlog) on: Football Matches

On 14th October our football team took part in 3 league matches that were held at the UCLAN Arena.

We got off to an amazing start beating Cottam 3-0, we then played Goosnargh Olliversons which proved to be a very exciting match but unfortunately we were beaten 4-3.

Our last game against  Lea was another tough match which ended in a 2-2.draw. Well done to the boys who took part. Mrs Taylor and Charlie thought you played extremely  well and were unlucky not to have secured more points!

On Wednesday 28th April 2021 our yr2 skills team took part in the Preston schools virtual mini skills competition. There were 6 activities to complete including sprinting, scoring a goal in the football net, overhead throws and using a relay baton. The team have worked extremely hard with Mrs Oldfield and Mrs Monks. The hardest activity was a timed event passing a rugby ball around the circle - how many passes in a minute. This has took some real determination from the team and they have improved so much it is quite impressive. When we started we probably could only reach about 20. On Wednesday we reached 46 ! Well done team, Umaimah ,Daisie, Alice, Freddie, Roman and Virat, you were all AMAZING

On 8th October our yr6 hockey team took part in the Preston skills competition. We hadn't had too much practice so we were a little nervous to start. The team were fantastic and showed their skills off superbly. We had to wait till just before half term to find out the result, but it was worth waiting for. Second in Divison 1. Well done to Harry, Elliot, Reuben, Kira, Amber and Olivia.
