Longsands - School Sport Premium 2018-2019

At Longsands we place a high importance on our PE and Sport provision.  As a school we pride ourselves in not only delivering two hours of high quality PE and Sport but also provide a wide range of opportunities for children to enjoy PE and Sport through after school, before school and lunchtime clubs.  We endeavour to give our children opportunities to experience different sporting challenges as they move through the school, and to develop their talents in appropriate competitive formats.  In addition to this, those with exceptional talent/enthusiasm will be guided towards appropriate clubs and organisations.

The government’s commitment to provide new funding for Primary PE and Sport means that we can now look to further develop and enhance the experience of the children at Longsands.

The funding allocated to our school for the academic year 2018-2019 is £17,770.00.  This is paid in two instalments.  £10,366.00 in September 2018 and £7,404.00 in April 2019.

Sustainability

The use of the premium provides sustainable improvement as staff have improved their skills having worked along-side professional coaches and through CPD. The coaching sessions are not used as non-contact time for the staff, they are gaining expertise through team teaching. We will continue to assess and review all areas of PE, Sport and Health within Longsands to ensure our children’s Physical and Mental Health will always be  our priority.
