Mrs McKeown's Update Monday 18th Jan 202118 January 2021 (by Martin Coyne (m.coyne)) |
The beginning of week three and everyone is once again sorting their own home and school routines.
Reeds Rains have offered to print worksheets for home school learning if you would like to contact them on
preston@reedsrains.co.uk. Oak National Academy are also offering access to free online books with this week the chosen book being a Tracey Beaker publication . Twinkl are offering free resources to run alongside the new BBC programmes.
The online learning recommendation from Government is up to 3/4 hours daily depending on their age even though a typical school day is around 6 hours. Children need a break from screen time and I know a number of teachers are planning activities where the children need to be away from the screen allowing exercise, fresh air and practical activities . This is an important part in every childs' development. Children need breaks between sessions of learning to enable them to be fresh for the next activity.
Lovely to see photos of the children taking part in my Wednesday challenge . Excellent camouflage/hiding! There will be a new challenge on Wednesday again.
Keep in touch and if you need any help there are plenty of us here who can try .
