Reception
We are delighted to welcome you to our Reception Class. Starting school is an exciting milestone, and we aim to provide a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels happy, safe, and ready to learn.
Our learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, with a strong focus on learning through play, exploration, and discovery. Children develop key skills in early reading and phonics using FFT Success for All, writing with Literacy Tree, mathematics with White Rose, and communication, while also enjoying creative activities, outdoor learning including Forest School, and opportunities to explore the world around them.
We encourage curiosity, independence, and confidence so that every child can thrive during their first year of school, modelling the Longsands Way.
